What Melo.Video does not do
No 4K and no 4:5: exports are 1080p or 1440p in 9:16, 16:9 or 1:1. A free account is required, there are no free exports, and songs can be up to 10 minutes and 80 MB. We have no subscription plan, so a high volume of videos is charged per export.
When another tool is the better choice
You need 4K
We export 1080p and 1440p. Videobolt (Pro), Kapwing (Pro), Specterr (Unlimited), LyricEdits (Pro) and Vizzy list 4K.
You need 4:5 or a custom size
We export 9:16, 16:9 and 1:1 only. A general editor such as Kapwing, which has a resize tool, can produce other sizes.
You want AI-generated footage
LyricEdits generates animated AI visuals for a song. Our templates are designed visualizers over your own photo, video or slideshow, not generated scenes.
You want a free tool
Vizzy is free and lists no watermarks. You build the video yourself in its editor. Exporting from Melo.Video is paid.
You need a full video editor
Kapwing and VEED are general editors for any footage, voiceover and subtitles. We only turn one song into a music, lyric or visualizer video.
You make many videos every month
A subscription can cost less per video if you export a lot. Videobolt, Specterr, Rotor and LyricMV sell monthly or yearly plans; we charge per exported video.

What is the cheapest way to make a lyric video?
For one video, a pay-per-export tool such as Melo.Video ($1.49 for Full HD at 30 fps) or a credit pack is usually cheaper than a monthly plan. If you make many videos a month, a subscription may cost less per video. A free tool such as Vizzy costs nothing but you build the video by hand.
Is there a free lyric video maker without a watermark?
Vizzy’s site says it is free with no watermarks, and renders on your computer; you build the video yourself. Melo.Video previews are free but watermarked, and exports are paid. Free plans of other tools in the table add a watermark.
Subscription or pay per video?
Pay per video suits a few videos a year: you pay only when you export and nothing renews. A subscription suits regular releases or a high volume. Melo.Video is pay per video only.
Which tools write and time the lyrics automatically?
In the table, Melo.Video and LyricMV list automatic lyrics with word timing, LyricEdits lists AI lyric transcription, and Videobolt times lyrics you paste. Kapwing and VEED make subtitles that can be used for lyrics. Check each tool’s own page for the details.
Can I trust this comparison?
We make Melo.Video, so we show only how each tool charges and what it automates, as stated on its own site, with the date we checked and a link to each pricing page. Prices and plans change, so confirm them there.
